ABOUT Solano HEALs Centering the Doula
At the core of Solano HEALs Collaborative lies a shared commitment among First 5 Solano, the Solano County Department of Health & Social Services (H&SS), and Aliados Health. Together, we recognize the urgent need to address health inequities affecting African American/Black moms, babies, and families in Solano County.

Our training program encompasses a 16-hour curriculum, providing participants with essential knowledge and skills. Additionally, we offer mentorship, workforce development opportunities, continued trainings, and ongoing learning experiences. This holistic approach ensures that our participants are well-equipped to support birthing families effectively.
Solano HEALs Collaborative is not just a training program; its a year-long journey of collaboration, upliftment, and community support. Our aim is not only to train Doulas and Facilitators but also to empower them to start their own doula businesses and enroll in Medi-Cal, thus expanding access to essential maternal and child health services within the community.
We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and encouraging environment that nurtures the growth and development of Black Doulas in Solano County. Through collective efforts and unwavering dedication, we strive to create lasting positive impacts on maternal and child health outcomes for African American/Black families in our community. Join us in our mission to promote equity and ensure healthy beginnings for all.
