Surviving to Thriving
The American Psychological Association defines resilience as, “The process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress.” Some examples could be racism, discrimination, microaggressions, family and/relationship, poverty, chronic health conditions, etc. Although resilience is a form of survival and self-preservation, it is not always indicative of optimal health and functioning.
Our hope is to transition our community from a place of surviving to thriving.
