Infant mortality is defined as "the death of an infant before his or her first birthday." The loss of a baby takes a serious toll on the health and well-being of families. Support and services are available for families who have suffered this loss.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 21,000 infants died in the United States in 2018.
