WHO WE ARE
OUR MISSION
The mission of Solano HEALs is to promote equity in healthy births for Black babies and their families in Solano County.
OUR VISION
ALL black mothers, babies and families thrive through empowerment and being well-informed in their community, family, and personal health outcomes.
WHAT WE DO
Since 2017, Solano HEALs has identified and brainstormed strategies and activities to impact the disproportionate rates of infant mortality, prematurity, and low birth weight among African American/Black babies in Solano County, which is located about 60 miles north of San Francisco.
Through a series of monthly community discussions spanning over a year,
Solano HEALS has narrowed down its strategies to the following:
Mental Health Services
for African American/Black women of reproductive age
Exclusively African American/Black
Centering Pregnancy
(group prenatal care)
